LIfe Latley

It is hard for me to believe that Sunday Abby was 6 weeks old. It is crazy that I now have to go back to work for 7 L-O-N-G days starting Friday. I am dreading being away from her, but I know she will be in great hands. She will be staying with Michael and my mom. I keep telling myself that it is only 7 days and then I will have 2 more months with her....I think I can, I think I can!

Anyway, Abby is really starting to develop a personality, and it is so fun to watch her become her own little person! She is smiling all.the.time and talking all.the.time. She will fit right in with our family!!! She is swatting at her toys and becoming more and more aware of her surroundings. She is such a wonderful blessing!!!

Here are some pictures of the last few days....

Our family of 4 on Mother's Day

Abby LOVES to be on her changing table

on her changing table again...naked and smiling :)
mommy is having so much fun with all of the bows and other "girly" things!!!

I can't do a post without talking about my first baby, Caleb!!! He is SO.MUCH.FUN these days. He talks all the time, and the things that come out of his mouth are hilarious!!! He is such a good soul, and we are so proud to be his parents!!!

here is Super Hero, Caleb. This is none other than his blanket clipped together with a chip clip...his imagination is so much fun!!
Caleb is such a good Big Brother. Here he was showing Abby all about Diego. He said she LOVED it!

Happy Mother's Day!

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mother's of the world. I am so blessed to have 2 beautiful, healthy babies to celebrate Mother's Day with!! We are also so lucky to have a wonderful Grandmommy and Grandmother to celebrate, also!!!

1 month old!!

Today Abby is 1 month old. My how times flies. I know I said this with Caleb, but it is even more so with Abby. Time is flying right before my eyes!!! Abby is so much fun, but I can't get over how much different she is than Caleb was as an infant. Here is some info about Miss Abby Sue at 1 month old...

At 1 month old Abby likes...
- to have her hair brushed. Such a girl! When she is upset this can usually calm her down. :)
- to lay in her crib and on her changing table.
- to lay on her tummy...especially on her daddy. Daddy loves this as well.
- to sleep....once she falls asleep she is so hard to wake up!
- to have head/face rubbed.
- to be held.

At 1 month old Abby does not like...
- to go to sleep. But, like I said, once she is asleep we are good to go.
- to be strapped into the carseat. Initially, once the car gets moving we are usually OK. Usually being the key word here. :)
- to have her diaper changed.
- to be cold. Such a drama queen about this one :)

Overall, God has blessed us with another wonderful child. She is such a blessing to us, and feels like she has always been here. She is changing by the minute, and learning and discovering so much every day. Here are some pictures of our first month together.

We go back to the doctor Thursday for Abby's 1 month check-up, and Caleb's 30 month check-up. I will post the stats. I can't wait to see how much she has grown!!!

We had a very fun, very busy Easter this year. Friday we began our Easter festivities by dying Easter eggs. I was so excited this year to do this with Caleb since he knows his colors and is really into the Easter Bunny coming to our house. Caleb did not disappoint. He was so much fun, and we had a BLAST dying eggs, or coloring them, as Caleb says. :)
Caleb with the colors.

"coloring" the eggs

As always, on the Saturday before Easter Michael's mom's family (the Grant's) get together for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This is always so much fun because there are so many little ones. There were 12 kiddos there ranging in age from 6 to 3 weeks old (that's Abby!!). Two great-grandchildren weren't there, and we are adding 3 more this year!!! There were TONS of eggs, and our little hunter had a blast. Although, he wasn't willing to share with his sister! :)

Caleb and Thomas -- they are 9 months apart

HELP! I can't reach this one!! I need it! It's a basketball!

Aunt Morgann to the rescue!

On the hunt!

Unc Gant (aka: Uncle Grant) thought it was so funny to put eggs on the roof. He should have known that his nephew would want them down

All the kiddos after hunting for their eggs. This was the best I could try getting 12 kids to look at you and smile at the same time! :)

Easter Sunday we made our first trip as a family of 4 to church. It went perfectly! Caleb went to Sunday School as usual, and Abby slept in her carseat with us in the sanctuary. She never woke up, and only startled when the orchestra got extra loud! After church we went to my parents house for lunch with the rest of my family. I forgot to take my camera over there, but here are some pictures from our house Easter morning. The Easter Bunny came!!!

The Easter Bunny left eggs all down the hallway! Caleb found them when he woke up!
He quickly figured out that if you drop the eggs they open, and there is candy inside. I think the Easter Bunny will need to tape the eggs together next year!!!

Look at my eggs, mommy!!!!!
(please excuse the morning was 7AM!)

My best attempt at getting an Easter Morning picture of my babies....sad, I know.
