Snow in Georgia and a visit from friends

Friday afternoon the snow starting coming down around 1:30 and didn't stop until Friday night around 10. I had to work that day, and even though I kept hoping they would send us home early, it was still a lot of fun to be with my other "kids" at school as the much anticipated snow came into town. The entire 3rd grade took the kids outside to play in the snow and we had so much fun!

I was so excited to get home to take Caleb out into the snow. It snowed last year (he was 5 months old), but he was too young to really play or stay out long. So we got home, bundled him up and out the door we went. It did not go over well. Caleb SCREAMED. LOUDLY. Much like you would expect someone to scream if say, their legs were being cut off. Don't let the slight smile in the first picture fool you -- he was not a happy camper.

Needless to say, we didn't spend a lot of time in the snow this weekend. But that was OK because our friends, Brian and Erika and their son, Matthew, from North Carolina came to visit. I was "that southerner" on their way down Friday afternoon (calling every 15 minutes, telling them to get a hotel room, etc.), but they made it safely to our house Friday evening. The boys had a great time playing together and making memories (OK - they are more memories for the adults, but who cares!).

Our babies who love to hang out in their diapers. (This was the best we could do!)

In the wagon, in the snow. This was the ONLY way Caleb would go out Saturday.

In the bath - they will love this when they get older. :)

It was so much fun to watch the boys play together (they are 8 months apart)! Caleb would never say "Matthew," but he did say "baby" all weekend! There will be many more fun times to come - they are moving back to Atlanta in June!!!! YAHOO!

Catching Up

I have said this before, but I am not going to get blogger of the week, month or year for that matter. :) Our life since 2010 has been crazy busy. A brief summary would be: back to work/school, Michael threw his back out, stomach bug, re-doing our kitchen, grad school, and life in general. I hope all of you had a wonderful January, and I promise (to try) to be better about our updates. I mean, I know y'all are waiting on pins and needles!!!

I can not believe my baby is 15 months old. He is a toddler. He is everywhere. He is talking NON STOP. He is precious. I love him so much!!!

On January 12 Caleb turned 15 months old. For me it is bittersweet. He is at a stage that I love. To be honest, it just keeps getting better. Everyday it is something new. A new word. A new discovery. Something. He amazes me and Michael. Caleb loves any type of ball, and true to boy form, he can distinguish between a baseball, a football, and a basketball. He says "bawl" (he does live in Loganville) for ball, but he also says "butball" for football, "beeball" for basketball, and something else I can't figure out how to type for baseball. It is too cute. There are too many to tell you about. One word he can say for sure is "cookie." This morning I got him up to go to Mrs. Anne (the nanny), and this first thing he said to me was "cookie, please!" Yep, he is my child. :)

Along with all of the words, Caleb's personality is shining through. I love it. He is such a silly boy. Here are some recent picks of our in house silly man. :)

This boys loves to be in nothing but his diaper...

This weekend I went to get him up from his nap, and this is what I found...classic...

(those wet spots are not what you think they are)

He LOVES to play in the tupperware in the kitchen.

He even tries to clean it up. :)

Caleb goes and goes and goes all the time. He has to pass out at some point, right? Who cares that it was right in the middle of lunch. :)

(excuse the nasty walls in the background...we are re-doing the kitchen)

2009 was mighty fine!! :)

The past 10 years have been very exciting for Michael and I. May marked 10 years since we started dating. It is so hard for me to believe that it has been that long. It seems like yesterday that I was in high school and going to prom with Michael. :) Through all of the years and memories we have made, I have to say 2009 has been one of the best. Here are some of my favorite pitures from our amazing year.

We hope your 2009 was just as magical as ours was, and that 2010 is a blessed year!

Love,
The Anderson Family

Christmas 2009

This was the best Christmas yet. We could not have asked for more. This year was a whirlwind, as it is every year, but it's just how we like it. We get to see everyone and spend this wonderful time of year with those we love. We started our Christmas off with Christmas Eve lunch with Michael's family. It is a tradition in his family for his Uncle Walter and Aunt Ann to take everyone (20+ people) out to lunch. It is great, crazy, but great. Here are some pics from our wonderful Christmas Eve lunch....

Caleb and Uncle Grant

Jennifer and Michael

From lunch we hurried home to make it to the 4:00 service at church with my parents, Craig, Kim, Sara and Davis. Funny story of the night: Michael and Davis too Caleb downstairs to the nursery. Michael said Caleb was all happy walking himself and talking and playing. He turned the corner for the nursery, saw Mrs. Janet (the nursery lady) and fell to the ground crying. I guess you could say he doesn't love the nursery. :) After church we drove to my cousin Kathleen's house for the Camuso Christmas. It was great...everyone was there. We draw names, eat dinner and enjoy everyone's company. Here are a few pics from our Camuso Christmas....

Caleb in his Christmas outfit...so special because this was Davis' Christmas outfit when he was Caleb's age..

Mom and Savannah at the gift exchange

Caleb at the gift exchange, in his Christmas pajamas. He got Thomas the Train bath toys!

On Christmas morning we woke up and Santa had come to our house and spoiled Caleb rotten!!! His favorite gift was the 89 cent package of Rasinets. Seriously though, now know what parents are talking about when they talk about their child's eyes on Christmas morning. The look on his face and the excitement he showed was priceless. It was just amazing. We can't wait for Christmas 2010 because we know it is going to be that much better!!!! Here are some pics from our Christmas morning with Caleb.

Caleb must have been a very good boy this year...

Caleb's first look....

YES!!!! A Yo Gabba Gabba DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And a train....

...and more toys?!?!?! WOW!!!

I look just like Daddy --- in my chair with a drink and the remote....

For Christmas lunch we headed over to my parents house. It was great because everyone was there...mom, dad, Craig, Kim, Sara, Davis, Lisi, Russ, Savannah and of course, the 3 of us. It was a wonderful afternoon with good food, great presents, and better company. From there we headed over to the Anderson's house where we again had good food, great presents and better company. I took tons of pictures of the presents Caleb got from his grandparents, but this was his favorite of the day...go figure...

After that, well, we went home and went to bed. If that doesn't make you tired, I don't know what will!!!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and have a blessed 2010!!!!

our European Family

How many people can say they have cousins, cousins they are close with and have a relationship with, that live in PARIS, FRANCE?!??!?! We can!!!! My cousin, Heather, lives in Paris with her husband David (pronounced Da-veed), and they precious son, Tiago. Tiago is 8 months older than Caleb, so we were so so so so excited for the cousins to meet and play. I grew up with Heather -- going on vacations, going to her house and her coming to mine (her parents still live in TN), so I so want our boys to have a relationship, even though they live across the pond from each other. :)

Heather and her family flew into Atlanta on Saturday night, and they spend the night with my parents. Caleb and I (Michael was in KY for an early Christmas present from me and Caleb) headed over to my mom's to see them, and Caleb and Tiago hit it off!!!

Saturday night Caleb's cousin, Savannah, came to spend the night. Caleb wasn't too sure about her being here, but they had a great time. Savannah is getting so big -- we can't believe she is almost 4 months old!!

He got in her Pack-N-Play...

Savannah was sad, so Caleb gave her some love...

The Sunday morning we went to Vecoma to see Heather, Tiago, and David, as well as most of the rest of my Atlanta family...

Grandmommy and Grandpa with their granddaughters, Sarah and Savannah

All of the Camuso family

All of the little kids at brunch...we literally had to take 10 pics and this is best one we got...

By the time it was all over, Caleb was pooped and laided down on the floor...I guess that was his way of telling us he was tired....

I will post again soon on our Christmas festivities...Merry Christmas to all!!!!

Who is that man?

This past weekend we took Caleb to see Santa Claus. My brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Kim, and their kids, Sara and Davis, went too. We were expecting a scene with Caleb, but that wasn't the case AT ALL. We let Caleb watch Sara and Davis first, and then it was Caleb's turn. Keep in mind that we had been standing in live for 2 HOURS!!!! Needless to say, we were ALL over it!!!! When we sat Caleb down, he stared at Santa for a few minutes, trying to figure out who this strange man was and what the white thing on his face was. Then he turned and smiled and we got a great 2nd Santa pic. All in all a great visit to see Santa. We'll see what he brings Caleb next week...we're pretty sure he is on the good list!!!

Sara (10) and Davis (7) sit with Santa. They are old pros. :)

Who are YOU?!?!
