Go Dawgs!!!

Being that this is our first post, what better way to start it off than to talk about a little Georgia football. We made it to two games this year. The first game was November 10 against Auburn. Going into the game Coach Richt asked that all of the fans wear a black shirt to the game. He said that the seniors on the team wanted to have a "Blackout."

It took a little convincing to get Jennifer to wear black. She tried the use the "I don't have anything black to wear line." Once we were at the game we tailgated with her brother and his friends and we also meet up with a few of our friends.

The game started off great with the players running out in black jerseys. It was the first time that they have worn black jerseys and it was one of the most exciting things I have seen. It was also very loud in the stadium as everyone was jumping up and down while screaming due to the excitement.

The game was a ton of fun. It was close through halftime, but midway through the third quarter the Dawgs pulled away and ended up with a big win for the second year in a row.

After the big win against Auburn, we went to the Kentucky game the following week. I had 4 tickets so I took Grant (big Kentucky fan) and my sister. This was the first UGA game for Mary Evelyn. We also meet our cousin Rebecca at the game. The weather much very chilly and the game was at 12:30pm. The 12:30 games are never as exciting as the later games, but no matter what time this game was it was impossible to match the excitement from the "Blackout."

The game started off terrible for UGA. Grant was thrilled with the start because he saw Kentucky go up 10-0 and there was a glimmer of hope that the Cats could pull off a big win against UGA for the second year in a row.

Luckily for Jennifer and me, the game was much different in the second half. Georgia got a comfortable lead so I attempted to explain some of the game to Mary Evelyn. I was teasing Mary Evelyn because I'm sure it is tough to be around 95,000 screaming fans when you are not 100% sure what is going on. Jennifer and I were very happy that my brother and sister could go to the game with us. It was a lot of fun and I hope we can do it again next year.

Now that the season is over, I can say that we - well more me than Jennifer - are pleased with Georgia's season. We beat our 3 biggest rivals (Georgia Tech, Florida and Auburn).
