many firsts and 8 months old!!

I can't believe Caleb is 8 months old already!! I know I have said this 10,o00 times, but I feel like he was just born yesterday. So much has changed in the last 8 months, but our lives are so much richer than they were before Caleb joined our family. It is amazing how much a little 19 pound miracle can change your life!! We are so blessed to be Caleb's parents and we thank God each day for bringing him into our life. We love you, Caleb Michael!!!

At 8 months Caleb is...
-- crawling like a mad man!!! He is into EVERYTHING!!! He is into things we didn't even know you could get into!!1
-- talking ALL THE TIME!!! He says ba-ba-ba, da-da-da, ya-ya-ya and blah-blah-blah (yes, it is hilarious!!)
-- working the crowd with those eyes and charming smile
-- teething -- yuck. He has 2 teeth, and I think he is working on 2 more.
-- pulling up and attempting to cruise on the furniture.
-- giving hugs (so sweet) and kisses (so messy...it is more like he sucks on your cheek)
and so much more! He is a busy little boy!!!

The past few weeks have been VERY busy for us. We took Caleb to his first Gwinnett Braves game. He loved it. We went with our Sunday School class and there were lots of babies, so Caleb had a blast.

Caleb and Daddy...smiling even though the Braves got killed (11-0 in the 7th when we left)

The Anderson's at the Gwinnett Braves Game.

We also took Caleb to the pool for the first time. We thought he would love it since he loves the bathtub so much, and we were right!! He loved the pool and his float, but not the so much the big water mushroom. The water was a little cold for Mr. Man. :)

He loved Daddy throwing him up over the water.

Happy Boy!

We also had some quick visitors. My cousin, Stephaine and her family. Stephanie and I are very close in age and have always been very close. She is pregnant with her 2nd baby, a BOY, due in September. So, her son and Caleb will be about 11 months apart. We can only hope baby Armstrong and Caleb will be as close and Stephanie and me.

Stephanie (on the left) and Elise (my sister) due about a week apart. My sister is having a girl. :)

Reagan and Caleb -- our October 12th babies. :)

We have also been spending a lot of time back in our old stomping grounds, Mountain Park Park. :) Our nephew, Davis, is on the T-ball All Star team for Brookwood and they have had their tournament back where Michael and I grew up and played ball. We never knew how addicting t-ball could be, but we haven't missed a game yet!!! Davis is doing a great job and we are so proud of him! One more win and we (they) are off to the Championship Game!!! he he

Our All-Star, Davis

Caleb even made it out to a few games. He is chillin' in his stoller with his cousin, Sara. She just got braces!!!

Whew! Typing all that out made me realize how busy we really have been! One more funny picture of Caleb napping...he was SO MAD about having to take nap. He was having a bit of a tantrum. He fell asleep with his legs still up like he had them....you know you are tired when you fall asleep sitting up!! :)

Weekend Update

My last day of school was last Tuesday and the rest of the week and weekend I have really enjoyed being home with Mr. Man. He is so much fun!! It has finally stopped raining, so we have been spending a lot of our time outside. Caleb loves to be outside and take in all of the new sights. He loves to sit in the grass and try and eat it. Oh my -- boys will be boys...

On Friday we went to the park with Beth and Caroline so Beth and I could walk. Caleb and Caroline loved the walk (or ride, rather), and after we were done I thought I would try Caleb on the swings. All I have to say is JACKPOT!!!! He loved it so much we went back Saturday morning with Daddy. Here are some pics.

back Saturday morning...

He officially has 2 teeth and loves to feel them with his tongue. :) He is still chewing on everything he can get his hands on. He is really exploring everything (baby proofing is in the process), and his new obsession is telephones. Any kind really -- cordless, corded, cell; you name it!! Michael had an old cell phone that we gave to Caleb, and you would have thought we gave him the moon! He was so excited! :) He is waving bye-bye to people with his whole arm -- too cute! It is just so amazing to me how much he is learning and growing!

We have a mover and a teether

This past week has been a long week for us. Caleb is full blown teething, and he is fighting it all the way. Sunday night we had quite a scare...Caleb woke up and was crying (parents you know the difference in their cries) a cry that was the scared/hurt cry. Michael and I go flying in there and he is so upset. I pick him up, rock him and we leave. About 15 minutes later, same thing -- he was crying uncontrollably. This time Michael takes him and he finally calms down. About that time I look down and my shoulder is covered in blood. Michael has blood all over his arm as well. We frantically start looking for the source of he blood, and we find it is Caleb's ear. It is covered!!!! We start wiping away all the blood to find that he had scratched himself and had a nice little cut. Needless to say we freaked out and were happy to find just a cut. Monday Michael took him to the doctor (we were thinking ears), and he is fine. No infections. The doctor said that sometimes when a baby is teething they don't know where the pain is coming from, so they just grab. This is obviously what Caleb did. Finally a few days later 2 bottom teeth popped through!!! YEA! I can't believe my baby has teeth! Here is a pic of the teeth -- bare with me -- I know it isn't great, but it was the best I could get.

This morning we saw 2 more teeth -- let's hope these 2 don't take their time coming in, and Caleb doesn't fight these!!! Wishful thinking, maybe?!

We had also had another big milestone this week with Caleb. HE IS OFFICIALLY MOBILE! He has been rocking and scooting for a while now, but he is now crawling like a mad man. He is fast! We are also in the process of baby proofing the house -- he loves cords!!! Here are some pics of our little crawler...

going after daddy...

I got him!!!

I already love golf!!

One last picture I want to share. Can you tell I am just a little proud?!!

A few more pictures of Caleb

I am sorry it has been a long time since I posted, and I apologize. Life has been crazy!! Caleb is becoming more and more mobile these days, and so I have less and less time to do other things. :) He is growing so much and is becoming more and more fun. He is rolling all over the place. I call him my little rolly polly. He can get himself all over the place just by rolling. It is kinda amazing to watch. He is also up on all four's rocking and trying to crawl. He just can't quite get there. He will move his arms and them scoot his legs, but can't just get the motion of truly crawling. He is almost there though! He can also crawl backwards. It is too cute. He is so proud of himself. :)

Now on to our very busy lives....

On Friday Caleb went to his very first Relay for Life. My school raises a lot of money for Relay and I try to be as involved as I can. I don't usually miss Relay for Life. For those of you who don't know, Michael's mom had Breast Cancer 6 years ago, and so it is very near and dear to our hearts. Caleb had a great time looking at all of the people and hearing all of the loud sounds. He was able to see his Grandmother walk in the survivor walk which gets me every time. She was so excited to see her grandson cheering her on as she walked by. One bad thing did happen right after Caleb and I left Relay. Michael's mom fell trying to avoid someone who wasn't paying attention (those of you who have ever been to the Gwinnett County Relay know how incredibly crowded it is). When she fell she broke her elbow and her arm (3 breaks in all). She is in A LOT of pain and will have surgery Tuesday morning. She will be in a cast for about 2 months and then will have physical therapy. Other than that we had a great time, and Caleb was a trooper. :) Here are some pictures of Caleb's first Relay for Life...

This is my friend Jayme's daughter, Kaleigh. She is almost a year exactly older than Caleb. She was very interested in Caleb. Jayme said that she must want herself a younger man! :)

Caroline wanted to feed Caleb his dinner, so I let her have at it! This is Caroline, Caleb, me and Ali. Caleb LOVES Ali! :)

We also celebrated my first Mother's Day. Can you believe I didn't take 1 picture! UGH! I am so mad at myself! It was a wonderful weekend (that's how long we celebrated). Michael got up with Caleb, and I was able to sleep in Saturday morning until 9:45 (my how times have changed). I went and got a pedicure and then we went to dinner with my parents and to see Michael's mom and dad. On Sunday I woke up to Caleb and Michael and they had some cards for me. Caleb also got me a spa package that I can't wait to use! I know the massage will be amazing. We went to church and then I played in a tennis match. We ended the night by meeting my family for dinner in Roswell. All in all it was a wonderful weekend. I consider myself so blessed to have been chosen to be Caleb's mother. I am blessed beyond words.

Here are some recent pictures of my little man. :)

Caleb has a stuffed animal, Mr. Moose. He LOVES Mr. Moose. This is how I found him sleeping the other night. I couldn't resist the photo opt! :)

Michael's mom knew I was still worried about Caleb and the bathtub, so she bought Caleb the bathtub below. It is pretty cool and Caleb loves it. If you squeeze the duck's beak he quacks. Too cute! :)

Caleb and Mommy. Sorry it's blurry.

Caleb has been playing so hard lately that he has been passing out during his bottle. Here is what he normally looks like after eating his bedtime bottle.

Here is a short video of Caleb rocking. He gets so excited! :)

well, I did it...

Well, mommy and daddy made a big step tonight. We put Caleb in the bathtub without his baby bathtub. I feel as though I am a pretty laid back mom. Ya know, I don't freak out and head to the doctor over every sneeze. However, I have been a freak about the bathtub. I am so worried that he is going to slip and hit his head. He did bump his head a few weeks ago, and it scared me so bad I took a day off work to make sure he was OK. I also checked on him every hour during the night. So, to make a long story short, I am a bathtub worry wart.

Caleb is 6 1/2 months old, and he has still been taking his baths in the baby bath tub. I know you are wondering if he still fits, and the answer is no, he doesn't fit, and we didn't care. We knew he was safe in there. His head was at the top and his feet hung over the side, but again, we didn't care. He was safe. He can sit up well, but we still didn't feel like he was sturdy enough to sit alone in the slippery tub, and so I always had a hand on him. Bathing a baby while holding a death grip on him doesn't work very well. Anyway, after many jokes from my family that Caleb would be 16 and still in the baby bath tub, we decided it was time to move to the next bathing step. So we got one of his bath towels, rolled it up to make a small pillow and a left a little for him to lay on, filled the tub up a little and laid him down. Needless to say, Caleb was a very happy boy in the great big bathtub. He survived (and so did I) and I looked like I had just stepped off Splash Mountain.

Here are some pics from our Wednesday night adventure. :)

loves his new, big playground...

he survived!!!!

Lastly, I wanted to share this picture. Caleb LOVES books!!!! He really loves Elmo and his Elmo book he got from Aunt Donna for Christmas! It is one of the books that has sound buttons you hit during the story.
