We went to the doctor yesterday and things are going well. We had the ultrasound, which was really neat. We hadn't "seen" Caleb since around 20 weeks and things have really changed in there. He is so cramped - I really don't know how that could be comfortable! Caleb was head down with his little fists in front of his face, boxer style. It was so sweet! They re-checked all of his organs, bones, you name it! They confirmed again that Caleb is indeed a boy and not a girl. I was actually relieved because I have had a reoccurring dream that Caleb was a little lady! :) The reason they did the ultrasound was because I have been measuring a little ahead consistently, and they wanted to make sure my fluids were on track and/or that Caleb wasn't getting too big. Well, everything was right on track -- Caleb measured just about where he should be and weighed in at 7lbs. 0oz., 50th percentile. You can't get much more average than that!! All of my fluids were fine, so all is good in the world! :) It was so nice to have the ultrasound, but so surreal at the same time. After the ultrasound was over, it occurred to me that the next time I see Caleb it won't be through a fuzzy ultrasound, but in real life!!! Wow....
My appointment went well too. I had actually lost 1 pound, which they say is normal. My iron was very low last week so they did blood work (yuck) to re-check it, and it was back to normal. I have been seeing stars a lot while doing nothing, and they think my very low iron might be to blame because of it. They didn't seem too concerned because my blood pressure was still in the normal range. I hadn't dilated anymore, but have started to efface. She didn't say how much, so I am thinking not much. Actually, her exact words were "Your cervix is a little shorter. That means you are staring to efface." So, no % was given, so I think that process might have just begun!! We go back to the doctor next week...going every week is fun! :)
This weekend we are going to clean and continue to prepare for Mr. Man. Tonight we are going to some friends house to watch the UGA/Bama game. GO DAWGS!!!!

38 weeks (almost) and counting

Well, for all of you who has been asking, here is my HUGE belly...37 1/2 weeks and growing. I am ready for Caleb to be here. I want to meet him, see who he looks likes, how much he weighs and how long he is. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed being pregnant. But there are a few things I can't wait to be able to do again...here are just a few...
- I can't wait to see my feet again
- I can't wait to be able to bend over and not hit my "rock"
- I can't wait to be able to sleep through the night without going to the bathroom
- I can't wait to see the bones in my feet again
Things are going well for Caleb and me. Things are progressing as they should (I guess), and we are ready to roll. I went to the Doctor last week and I had dilated 1 cm. Michael and I were so excited, then the doctor said that I could walk around for weeks like this. I thought it meant things were about to start happening! Guess not! We go back Friday morning for another check up and an ultrasound. I am excited about the ultrasound. :)
As promised, here are some pics...
These 2 are of Michael and his dad putting the crib together. Always interesting....

These are of Buddy, our cat. The blanket he is playing with was supposed to be Caleb's, but Buddy had another plan. It is one of those stuffed animal/blanket things. One of my students gave it to me.

Lastly, here is Caleb's nursery, complete (well, almost).

Now, all we need is a baby....

update
I have been so busy recently that I have not had the chance to update our blog. We are busy getting ready for the arrival of Mr. Caleb. Michael and I are so excited we can hardly stand it! Our spare time is spent getting his nursery together, washing his clothes and going to all of my wonderful showers!!!! Oh and any other time I have is dedicated to planning to be out of school for 12 weeks!!!
The pregnancy is still going fine. I love feeling Caleb kick everyday and watching him grow (I swear my stomach grows by the minute!!). I am starting to swell, which is not fun. I don't know if my feet have grown or if my feet are too fat to fit all the way into them! :) I can no longer wear my engagement ring (the wedding ring it a little bigger). I am still enjoying being pregnant, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't ready for him to be here. I went to the doctor today, and it seems as though Caleb may still be breech. I go back September 17th (36 1/2 weeks) and that is when my "waist down" exams start. She said that they would check my cervix, check for dilation and if they couldn't feel a definite head then we would have to have an ultrasound to see where he is hanging out. She also said that next week we will discuss what was next (to turn the baby, c-section, etc.). I kinda hope he is still breech next week so I can have another ultrasound (wrong, I know!!).
I will post pics of Caleb's room and me soon!

update and fun survey
School started back this week and I have been so so so tired. It is a lot of work getting a classroom together for the year and of course preparing to teach for 180 days! Tomorrow is Open House, and I will get to meet my students (hopefully they will all show up!!).
The pregnancy is going well. I feel pretty good, just feeling tired and heavy. I go back to the doctor Friday; I am going every 2 weeks now. Michael is going to go with me - he hasn't been in a while. I am excited he is going. :) We are still working on getting the nursery finished, and I promise I will post pics soon.
That's all for now. Michael is coming home from Kansas tonight, and his flight comes in at 10:30ish. It is going to be a late night....
I saw this on someone else's blog and thought it would be something fun and different. Enjoy!

Where did the summmer go????
I know I am pregnant, I obviously have an expanding belly and there is a nursery, but I don't think I have wrapped my brain around what is really going on. Don't get me wrong - I am so excited to become a mom and meet Caleb, it just doesn't seem real to me yet. I love feeling Caleb move and kick - I wish he would do it all the time, never stopping. :) We have just about 11 weeks left and he will be here! WOW!
The nursery is coming along. We have the changing table (thanks Craig and Kim) and the crib is put together (thanks Mr. Anderson). We still have to get the glider and figure out where all of the furniture will go. After we figure that out we can hang things on the wall and it will look more like I want it to! I will post pics after we figure everything out.
I had my first shower July 19th. Michael's Aunt Anne and cousin Elizabeth gave it for us. It was amazing and overwhelming all at the same time. We got so many nice things, and mom and I have had a great time washing his clothes, putting them away, and getting the nursery together. That child is going to be one well dressed little man! :)
This weekend we are going to Nashville, TN for my family reunion (yes, this has been the summer of reunions). We look forward to this every year. My family is HUGE and we get together somewhere different every year. There are usually between 75-100 people there every summer. When we get home Sunday Michael is heading out of town for work, and I start back to school Monday morning. Where did the summer go?
Well, that's all that is going on from our home. I will post again soon!!

belly and bedding
We are moving right along with preparing for Caleb's arrival. We have cleaned out what used to be Michael's office completely, bought a crib and bought the bedding. Day by day it is becoming more and more real that we are having a baby in about 15 weeks. I can't believe it!!!!! Here are some pics of the bedding and Caleb's growing wardrobe and closet. :)

His quilt - can you see how well we matched the walls!!! :)

The bumpers, bed skirt and sheets!

The precious diaper stacker!!

This is the fan pull in the nursery - we didn't buy it. It was already there when we moved in - it was a sign!!!!
Moving right along with the nursery is my belly. For the longest time I didn't have one, but boy do I now!!! I remember earlier in the pregnancy I would ask Michael everyday "Do I look fat or pregnant?" and being the wonderful husband he is, he would tell me I looked beautiful and pregnant. No, there is no mistaken that there is a little person in there!!! Here are some pics!
20 weeks...

23 weeks...really grown a lot in 3 weeks...

Other than the baby, not too much has been going on. We went to the Braves game with my sister and her husband back in May (I know, I'm late with the pics). We had AWESOME seats - right behind the Braves dugout. We even had passes to the 755 Club! We had a great time, even though it felt like 120 degrees!
Michael and me...

Lisi and Russ

Michael not wanting his picture taken anymore...

Well, thats about all going on with the Anderson's right now. Tomorrow we jet off to Hawaii for 8 days. We are so excited and will post pictures of our "babymoon" when we get back!
Aloha!

moving forward...
It is hard to believe that we found out almost 24 weeks ago that we were going to be parents. It seems just like yesterday. Wow...
I feel Caleb kick everyday, and it brings a smile to my face every time. I absolutely LOVE feeling his "love notes." It has been so cool to have Michael be able to feel Caleb kick or punch, too. The past 2 nights Michael has put his hand on my stomach, said hello to Caleb and Caleb has responded; one night it was immediate!!! It was so cool!!! My mom keeps talking to Caleb trying to get him to kick for her, and he won't. I can't wait for everyone to be able to feel what I have been feeling for a month or so. :) Caleb has "active" and "sleepy" times. It is so cool to "know" my baby before he even arrives. :) I can't wait to meet him!!!
We are getting ready for our HUGE vacation. On June 28th we are leaving for Hawaii with the Anderson's and many of Michael's cousins and aunts and uncles. We will be there for 8 days. We are so so so so so excited!!! I have wanted to go to Hawaii my whole life and now we are finally able to go. I can't wait to see paradise!
